Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky
Duncan Taylor has announced the release of its latest masterpiece, a 54-Year-Old Highland Park whisky, marking the oldest expression of Highland Park ever bottled by an independent producer. With only 158 bottles produced, this rare single malt is a true collector’s item, highlighting Duncan Taylor’s reputation for sourcing and releasing extraordinary whiskies.
The Accolade: A Rare and Exclusive Collection
This exceptional whisky is the first edition of Duncan Taylor’s Accolade, part of the prestigious Rarest Collection. Distilled in 1970, this Highland Park has spent 54 years maturing in a sherry-seasoned oak cask, developing a unique character through decades of aging. According to Duncan Taylor, the sherry cask’s influence, combined with the whisky’s peated profile, creates a “complex interplay of sweet and smoky flavors,” making this release stand out even among the rarest whiskies.
A Landmark Release
As the last in Duncan Taylor’s line-up of rare and aged whiskies for the year, CEO Shawn Smith expressed pride in the significance of this bottling: “It is an honor to launch one of the oldest Highland Park whiskies to reach the market and present it in packaging that reflects the luxurious spirit inside.”
The Ultimate in Luxury Presentation
The Accolade Highland Park is not only remarkable for its age and flavor profile, but also for its lavish presentation. The whisky is encased in a bespoke “dagger” decanter, perched on a copper plinth, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. A handling kit, complete with gloves, ensures the utmost care for this precious spirit, all housed within an elegant display cabinet.
An Investment in Liquid History
Bottled at 42.9% ABV and priced at £22,000, the 54-Year-Old Highland Park Accolade is positioned as an exclusive collector’s piece. Following the release of Duncan Taylor’s Rarest Reserve collection—two rare expressions presented in gold bars—this latest offering cements Duncan Taylor’s place at the forefront of ultra-premium Scotch whisky.
