Bladnoch Distillery Unveils Heritage Collection: A New Era for Whisky Enthusiasts

Bladnoch, the renowned Lowland Scottish distillery, has recently made exciting changes to its whisky lineup, introducing two new age-statement single malts and rebranding its collection. With more than two centuries of whisky-making tradition, Bladnoch’s new offerings are set to captivate connoisseurs globally.

Key Highlights of the Heritage Collection:

New Age Statements:
Bladnoch has added two new age-statement whiskies—a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old—to its Heritage Collection, replacing the 11-year-old and 14-year-old expressions.
- The 13-year-old is matured in Bourbon barrels, with master distiller Dr. Nick Savage selecting casks that deliver:
  - Nose: Floral, honey, and refreshing citrus
  - Palate: Floral Parma Violets, fresh-cut apples, and hints of wood spice
  - Bottled at 46.7% ABV, with a retail price of £85 (US$112).
- The 16-year-old is aged in oloroso Sherry casks, offering:
  - Nose: Hints of wood spices, raisins, sultanas, and orange peel
  - Palate: Raisins, dried fruits, fruit cake with cinnamon and chocolate
  - Bottled at 46.7% ABV, retailing for £110 (US$145).
Heritage and Legacy:
The Heritage Collection is inspired by Bladnoch’s 207-year legacy and symbolizes the distillery’s commitment to honoring its rich history as well as maturing stocks.
Complementing Aged Expressions:
These new releases will join Bladnoch’s existing aged whiskies, including the 19-year-old and 30-year-old, expanding the range for whisky lovers.

Core Range Evolution: Twinned Cask Collection

Bladnoch Classic Collection Rebranded:
As part of the distillery’s continued growth since being acquired by Australian businessman David Prior in 2015, the Classic Collection has been renamed the Twinned Cask Collection.
- The collection includes four non-age-statement whiskies: Vinaya, Liora, Samsara, and Alinta.
- The name reflects the unique process of marrying two cask types in the whisky-making process.
- All four expressions remain unchanged.
