Gordon & MacPhail has launched the third edition of its acclaimed Recollection Series, a unique collection of rare Scotch whiskies from Scotland’s long-silent and closed distilleries, such as Glenlochy, Convalmore, and Rosebank. This series honors the legacy of these historic distilleries by showcasing single casks distilled prior to their closures, capturing a unique slice of Scotch whisky history.
Included in this year’s Recollection Series are rare single malts from the Rosebank, Glenlochy, Convalmore, Imperial, North Port, and Port Ellen distilleries. Each expression is presented at cask strength, offering whisky enthusiasts an authentic taste of these nearly forgotten spirits.
Stuart Urquhart, Operations Director at Gordon & MacPhail, remarked: “Now in its third year, our Recollection Series delivers an exclusive selection of rare, remarkable whiskies to connoisseurs around the world. We’re privileged to draw from a liquid library built over nearly 130 years of collaboration with Scotland’s distilleries. This series brings the stories and spirits of these historic distilleries to life once more.”
For this edition, Gordon & MacPhail collaborated with animator and illustrator Bruno Mangyoku to create packaging that portrays the whiskies as “lost works of art.” Mangyoku commented, “The goal was to revive the essence of this year’s featured distilleries, celebrating their past through illustration. Exploring the industry’s rich heritage in this way was a truly inspiring experience.”
