The Glenlivet, a renowned Scotch whisky brand, is introducing a remarkable new expression to its permanent portfolio—a 40-year-old single malt. As part of the celebrations following its 200th anniversary, the brand is expanding its offerings with this exclusive and aged release.

Key Highlights:

  • The Glenlivet 40 Years Old is the oldest expression in the core range of single malts.
  • Finished in specially seasoned Sherry casks, this whisky has been bottled at 46.9% ABV, cask strength.
  • Priced at $6,000 (approx. £4,600 or €5,500).
  • Crafted by cask master Kevin Balmforth, who credits the vision of his predecessors for laying the foundation of this whisky 40 years ago.
  • A bespoke blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherries was used to season the casks.
  • Flavor profile: strawberry jam, dark cherries, cinnamon, toasted oak, poached plums, charred orange, dark chocolate, red apples, and sweet licorice.
  • A fitting addition to the portfolio, following the release of The Glenlivet 55 Years Old.
  • The whisky is presented in an elegant bottle inspired by the brand’s original design, encased in a copper-coloured container that reflects the distillery’s copper stills.

Johan Radojewski, Vice-President of Marketing at Pernod Ricard USA, expressed that this new addition highlights the quality and craftsmanship of The Glenlivet, further catering to the demand for unique, high-end Scotch whisky in the US market.
