The iconic Scottish alternative rock band Del Amitri has joined forces with Caskade Drinks and The Glasgow Distillery to create a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky. Known for their memorable hits like Nothing Ever Happens and Last Cheap Shot at the Dream, Del Amitri is now taking their talents to the world of whisky with a unique blend that honors their musical legacy.

This exclusive whisky release marks the latest addition to Caskade Drinks’ Artist Series, a lineup that has previously included bottles dedicated to legendary bands like Status Quo and Deacon Blue. Distilled by The Glasgow Distillery, this release reflects the collaborative spirit of Scotland’s music and whisky traditions.

  • Limited Release: Only 522 bottles were produced, each bottled at a robust 54.2% ABV.
  • Distinctive Finish: The whisky was aged in ex-Ruby Port casks, imparting a strong berry character and a distinctive pinkish hue.
  • Artistic Label: The bottle’s label features illustrations by local artist Nänni-pää, each inspired by Del Amitri’s songs and lyrics.
  • Launch Concert Package: Fans can purchase a special package that includes the bottle and two concert tickets to Del Amitri’s performance at the Glasgow Tramway on Saturday, 30 November. Priced at £109.95, this package combines music and whisky for a memorable experience.

Del Amitri expressed their excitement about the release, saying, “The casks we secured from The Glasgow Distillery exceeded all our expectations, and we are looking forward to ringing in 2025 with a glass of this.”

Gareth Croll of Caskade Drinks also commented, “This new release in our Artist Series pays true homage to the bold, creative spirit of our hometown and the innovation in the whisky world today. This whisky speaks volumes, and I think we’re going to see a lot of new single malt whisky lovers as a result.”

The whisky, initially priced at £69.95, sold out quickly, underscoring the band’s ongoing influence and the enduring appeal of a well-crafted single malt.
