To mark Bourbon Heritage Month, Bardstown Bourbon Co. is set to launch two exciting new releases: the highly anticipated Silver Oak Finish and the 12th edition of its renowned Discovery Series, both available from September 6th.
The Silver Oak Finish brings together the worlds of American wine and whiskey, blending six different bourbons aged between 9 and 15 years. The whiskey is then finished in Silver Oak Cabernet barrels for 17 months, resulting in a distinctive and rich flavor profile.
Silver Oak, known for its 50-year legacy of aging Cabernet Sauvignon exclusively in American Oak barrels, is a revered name in the global wine industry. The collaboration with Bardstown Bourbon Co. reflects a shared commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, with both brands constantly pushing the boundaries of their respective fields.
Nate Weis, Vice President of Winegrowing at Silver Oak, shared his thoughts on the partnership: “In timeless crafts like winemaking and distillation, innovation comes from curiosity. This philosophy is one that Silver Oak and Bardstown Bourbon Co. both embrace, whether in how we engage with customers in Napa Valley or Kentucky, or in exploring the possibilities of American oak.”
Bardstown Bourbon Co. has had a busy year, announcing several exciting collaborations. Among them is the upcoming regional release of a partnership with Blackberry Farm, and the groundbreaking collaboration with Amrut Distillery—pioneers in Indian single malts—which marked a historic moment for American whiskey with a unique international finish.
In addition, Bardstown Bourbon is introducing the 12th installment of its Discovery Series. This edition features a blend of four whiskies, including a 6-year-old four-grain recipe distilled and aged at Bardstown’s own estate. With each release, the Discovery Series incorporates an increasing percentage of Bardstown’s in-house whiskies, continuing its mission to push the envelope with innovative flavor combinations.
