Penelope Bourbon continues to innovate with the latest addition to its Core Series—Penelope Wheated Bourbon. This new expression brings an approachable, well-balanced wheated bourbon to the lineup, offering versatility at an attractive proof and price point.

Bottled at 95 proof (47.5% ABV), Penelope Wheated Bourbon will be available nationwide starting in February, with a suggested retail price of $39.99. Its introduction marks the fifth core expression in Penelope’s portfolio, joining the acclaimed Architect, Barrel Strength, Four Grain, and Toasted releases. The addition of Wheated Bourbon enhances the collection with a refined yet robust profile, catering to both seasoned bourbon enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

“Wheated bourbons are more popular than ever, and we think we hit the mark with this one, from flavor to proof to price,” said Michael Paladini, Penelope founder and vice president of strategy for MGP. “It’ll be a welcomed addition to our core lineup.”

Crafted with a mash bill of 74% corn, 16% wheat, 7% rye, and 3% malted barley, Penelope Wheated Bourbon delivers a rich sweetness complemented by subtle spice. The wheat contributes to its smooth, mellow character, while the rye imparts a hint of complexity. Tasting notes include inviting aromas of light oak, sweet corn, apple, and pear, followed by flavors of vanilla, honey, caramel apple, and orange zest. The finish lingers with notes of brown sugar, toasted oak, and a touch of cinnamon spice.

“Wheated is the perfect addition to the Core Series portfolio,” said Danny Polise, Penelope founder and master blender. “With its 95 proof point, Wheated brings full-bodied depth and complexity—a balance in blending we’ve been looking forward to releasing.”

Bourbon enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing Penelope Wheated Bourbon as it rolls out nationwide, offering a versatile, high-quality option at an approachable price point.
