Maker’s Mark has introduced its 2024 release of the Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged, a limited-edition bourbon showcasing the distillery’s oldest whiskey blend to date. This special-edition release combines 12- and 13-year-old whiskeys to deliver a more profound, intricate drinking experience.

The 2024 Cellar Aged expression consists of 15% 12-year-old Maker’s Mark and 85% 13-year-old Maker’s Mark, blended at 59.7% ABV (119.3 proof). The result is a whiskey with rich aromas of caramelized sugar, citrus zest, and toasted almonds. According to the official tasting notes, drinkers can expect flavors of buttery shortbread, rich coconut, and bright spices, followed by a lingering finish of dried dark fruit and subtle oak.

A key element in crafting this unique bourbon is the limestone shelf at Star Hill Farm, home of the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. The natural environment surrounding the distillery is pivotal in developing the rich flavors of this whiskey. As a testament to its commitment to sustainability, Maker’s Mark is the largest bourbon distillery to hold both B Corp and Regenified certifications, reflecting its dedication to regenerative agricultural practices.

“Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged is a refined expression that remains true to our signature style, finishing its aging process in our LEED-certified cellar,” said Dr. Blake Layfield, Head of Innovation and Blending at Maker’s Mark. He emphasized that the cellar’s unique limestone structure enhances the bourbon’s depth and complexity, avoiding the harsh tannins often associated with older American whiskeys.

Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged 2024 is now available, priced at $174.99, offering bourbon enthusiasts a chance to savor the most mature whiskey the distillery has ever produced.
